VP Plaza España Design Opens in Madrid
VP Hoteles announced the opening of their flagship property, VP Plaza España Design 5-Star.
Located in central Madrid close to cultural attractions including the Royal Palace and the Temple of Debod, the newly built five-star property opened its doors on March 15.
Through the conceptualization of the facade and interiors in collaboration with established designers, VP Plaza España Design 5-Star is poised to become an icon of design, art and architecture in Madrid.
Featuring 214 rooms across 17 floors, VP Plaza España Design 5-Star demonstrates a firm commitment to design, evident in the building’s architecture, interior design, furniture aesthetics and artwork featured throughout the hotel.
The property’s unique facade and interior were designed by Spanish architects and designers, including B720 architects' studio and the Cuarto Interior and Studio Gronda interior design studios. Eye-catching artworks include modern-art paintings by Fernando Palacios and spectacular Urzay sculptural elements created by renowned artists, Pere Figre and Jan Henrix.
All rooms and suites feature sound-proofed and thermal break windows, adjustable temperature unit, a 55-inch plasma television, Bluetooth B&O play Bang & Olufsen speaker, work desk, free high-speed Wi-Fi access, adjustable lighting, USB chargers on the bed headboards, automatic blinds, interactive "do not disturb” notification, automatic door opening, mini-bar, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, iron and ironing board, safety deposit box and full bathroom with high-end amenities.
Additional hotel amenities include an outdoor swimming pool, a business center, a dedicated wellness center and gym on the ground floor, and several dining options.
The first-floor Wellness & Spa area covers 1,300 square feet and includes a sports facility with a heated pool, relaxation zone, sauna and three treatment rooms designed for relaxation and rejuvenation.
Guests can enjoy cocktails, food and 360-degree panoramic city views of the Plaza de España, Temple of Debod and the Royal Palace from the 12th floor Gingko Sky Bar, which will quickly become renowned for its stylish ambiance and the heated outdoor pool with its transparent floor. The pool seems to cascade into the hotel via a spectacular sculpture that appears to be a drop of water that splashes down into the lobby.
On the ground floor, BOTANIA, a new restaurant from the prestigious Larrumba Group, will open onto the newly renovated Plaza de España on one side and a spacious patio on the other side, allowing diners to sit between two realms of green space – public and private. BOTANIA will specialize in international cuisine, with a special focus on Asian cuisine.
VP Plaza España Design 5-Star will be the ideal location for conventions, presentations, special events and meetings in Madrid, offering 15,000 feet of space that can accommodate groups of up to 650 throughout the hotel. The second floor is dedicated to meetings with 6,500 square feet of fully partition-friendly space.
In the lobby, a 1,000-foot business center encompassing three rooms is available, along with a first-floor Buffet area covering 3,800 square feet which can be partitioned and converted in a multi-disciplinary space.
The Gingko Sky Bar is also available for events year-round. All spaces are equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and the latest audio-visual capabilities.
