The Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando Hotel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, unveiled its new Imperial Club.

The 12-room Imperial Club is Hodelpa's answer to the growing demand for exclusive spaces, according to a spokesperson.

Owners built an elevator for the sole use of the club, which is accessed through one of the hotel's gardens. The elevator opens onto the club's lounge, which is open daily for rum drinks and an afternoon tapas service. A fleet of butlers accommodates guests' needs.

The 92-room hotel is housed in the restored 16th-century home of the city's founder and first governor and is built in the city's colonial style.

Amenities and services at the hotel include a 30-minute complimentary massage, continental breakfast, personalized wakeup calls with coffee and a weather forecast, a Bluetooth sound system and a courtesy car wash for guests with vehicles.

Hodelpa Hotels has 13 properties in the D.R. and is a pioneer in the renaissance of the Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo. The company plans further expansions later this year. Imperial Club rates start at $390 per room, per night, double; regular hotel rates start at $190.
