USVI Receives Top Honors in Caribbean Travel & Life`s 2004 Best of the Caribbean Survey
Commissioner of Tourism Pamela C. Richards is pleased to announce that the United States Virgin Islands ranked among the best in Caribbean Travel & Life magazine´s 2004 Best of the Caribbean reader survey. The United States Virgin Islands was recognized in 10 of the 18 survey categories.
"I am thrilled that the United States Virgin Islands is so highly esteemed by Caribbean Travel & Life and its readers," Richards said. "These honors affirm the appeal of America´s Caribbean to vacationers worldwide and the strength of our territory´s tourism industry."
The 2004 Best of the Caribbean reader survey, published in the April 2004 issue of the magazine, ranks the top four Caribbean destinations in 18 different categories. The publication surveyed its readers on a wide variety of topics, ranging from general island offerings to specific Caribbean establishments.
The USVI received honors in the following categories: Best Beach (Magens Bay, St. Thomas); Friendliest People(United States Virgin Islands); Romantic Destination (St. John); Best Restaurant
(Old Stone Farmhouse, St. Thomas); Best Shopping (St. Thomas); Duty-Free Shopping (A.H. Riise, St. Thomas); Best Beer (Blackbeard´s Ale, United States Virgin Islands); Best Bar (Iggies Beach Bar, St. Thomas); Best Eco-Resort (Maho Bay Camps, St. John); and Best Cruise Port (St. Thomas).
