Temptation Cancun Reopens
Free-spirited travelers 21 and older rejoice. The all-inclusive, topless-optional Temptation Cancun is reopening its doors after a multi-month, multi-million-dollar renovation that began back in September 2016.
Unveiling the renowned “sensual minimalism” of designer Karim Rashid, the newly re-designed rooms and suites (430 total) and areas have been enhanced with bright colors, smooth textures and organic shapes that mimic the lines of the human body. The hotel’s revamped seven-story, multi-colored profile is already making a brilliant splash on Cancun’s Mexican Caribbean skyline.
“We’re officially welcoming back guests today for a soft opening, but on October 16th we’re set to celebrate our grand re-opening with an over-the-top-party in partnership with the Cancun Travel Mart,” said Mario Cruz, Concept Manager for Original Group during the soft opening ceremony on August 15. “International journalists and industry professionals will attend in all-white attire and enter through an epic pink carpet to enjoy the festivities for this hotly anticipated extravaganza.” Also set for an October inauguration: the rooftop Sky 3.5 Bar with 12 hours of hot beats and special performances in a spectacular setting featuring a casual menu and hand-crafted drinks.
The $50 million investment upgrade went property-wide, positioning the resort as “The Playground for Grown-Ups” with Rashid’s design infusing it with a sensual vibe throughout.
The resort has five bars offering 24-hour premium beverage service for premium meet-and-mingles, a full-service Spa Rosé and a state-of-the-art fitness center to work off the fare from the eight restaurants with 15 different cuisines, including an aphrodisiac-themed eatery. Named SHE, this signature couples-only restaurant focuses on the erotic side of dining with multiple-course, specially prepared menus.
“I’m excited to welcome past and new guests to an upgraded version of Temptation,” said Cruz. “The newly-renovated property will refine and elevate the original concept by enhancing the guest experience with the highest international hotel standards and a ground-breaking design. The new look will showcase everything Temptation stands for—excitement, self-expression, innovation and vibrancy.”
Each of the redesigned 430 rooms and suites offer a private terrace or balcony, along with an LED TV, free Wi-Fi, 24-hour room service and an in-room minibar. A selection of rooms and suites include pool and beach butler service, pillow menu, outdoor Jacuzzis, aromatherapy and Blissful Beds among other state-of-the-art amenities.
Living up to Original Group’s penchant for fun in the sun and even more after dark, there are a variety of entertainment activities, from resident DJs pumping it up at pool parties at the high-energy “Sexy Pool”—there’s also a “Quiet Pool” for peaceful relaxation—to the exotic theme nights, live music, contests and more. BASH, the “heartbeat of Temptation,” is the place to see and be seen and enjoy live DJs and programming from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Meanwhile, Original Group is not resting on its hot-pink laurels.
“Temptation will expand its international portfolio in 2019 with a new resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic,” said Cruz. “The new property will become Temptation’s first property outside of Mexico and this expansion is the beginning of a global growth plan to bring the brand and its mission to new audiences. Temptation Punta Cana will feature 400 guestrooms and suites and will be set on 62 acres of landscaped grounds. Additionally, in the Original Group portfolio, we are planning to augment the Desire brand with new resorts and cruises.”
Cancun’s beachfront Playground for Grown-Ups is currently accepting reservations and is offering a series of Early Bird Specials including a 45 percent discount for travel between September 17 through October 31, and 40% discount for travel between November 1 through December 21, 2017.
