Royal Caribbean International launched an online training program called the University of WOW that will teach agents about brand itineraries, services and other tools offered by the line.
Royal Caribbean said that agents will earn five credits towards a Cruise Lines International Association certification upon graduation from the program, and will also be able to earn Royal Caribbean rewards in the process. The line called the program a “virtual classroom where travel agents can reinforce their knowledge of the line in a fun and informative format.”
Travel agents can register for the program at http://www.cruisingpower.com/. As agents progress through the program, they will earn WOW points and achieve certificates of Cruise Apprentices, Cruise Specialists and Cruise Experts, Royal Caribbean said. As agents complete levels they will earn incremental incentives such as discounted and free cruises.
Agents that complete the entire program will be listed as a Royal Caribbean Cruise Expert when an inquiring traveler uses the cruise line’s online Travel Agency Locator, Royal Caribbean said.
Through April 15, agents with the top 50 WOW Points scorers will be entered into a drawing to win a stateroom aboard a two-night pre-inaugural sailing in May aboard the Liberty of the Seas.
Through July 31, the top 200 WOW Points scorers will be entered into a drawing to win the chance to participate in September’s float-out of the Independence of the Seas in Finland.
Through Aug. 31, the top 400 WOW Points scorers will be entered into a drawing to win the chance to participate in the year-end keel-laying of the first Genesis Project ship.
