Norwegian Cruise Line Announces 2018 Cuba Itineraries
Thanks to loosened restrictions, Americans are now able to visit this island nation, and what better way than on a cruise. Norwegian Cruise Line has just announced its 2018 itineraries to Cuba.
As an added incentive (as if one needed any encouragement), the cruise line is offering a limited promotion of $50 in onboard credit for new bookings (restrictions apply) on the line’s all-inclusive, four-day roundtrip cruises to Cuba, including new cruises from Port Canaveral beginning May 2018.
Norwegian Sun’s new all-inclusive four-day cruises to Cuba will depart Port Canaveral each Monday, beginning May 7, 2018. The sailing will take passengers to Key West, Florida each Tuesday.
Early the next morning, passengers will disembark in Cuba’s capital city of Havana, where they’ll have a full day and night to immerse themselves in the art, culture and history that surrounds this charming colonial city.
The Adventure Begins
Through OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control)-compliant shore excursions, passengers can drive through Old Havana, a UNESCO World Heritage site, in an American classic car.
Other excursions provide passengers with the chance to:
—Tour the Fabrica de Arte Cubano, which is home to the works of some of Cuba’s most famed photographers and painters, as well as emerging artists.
—Enjoy a ‘Cuba Libre’ at the Tropicana Cabaret, a legendary nightclub once frequented by icons such as Nat King Cole, Josephine Baker, Cheo Feliciano and Rita Montaner, a Cuban singer, pianist and actress, among others.
—Follow in the footsteps of Ernest Hemingway with stops at The Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum in Key West’s historic Old Town District and Finca Vigía in the small, working-class town of San Francisco de Paula in Cuba.
All About the Sun
The Norwegian Sun will undergo a two-and-a-half week dry dock in April 2018 as a part of the Norwegian Edge, the brand’s revitalization program encompassing the entire guest experience, before arriving in Port Canaveral.
Norwegian Sun accommodates 1,936 guests and offers them the choice of 16 dining venues,12 bars and lounges, entertainment options for all ages and more.
As part of the ship’s all-inclusive program, all guests sailing aboard one of Norwegian Sun’s Cuba or Bahamas cruises from Port Canaveral can also enjoy unlimited complimentary beverages as part of their fare.
Passengers can also avail themselves of the services at the relaxing Body Waves Spa or see if Lady Luck is their partner at the Sun Club Casino.
Earlier this year, the Norwegian Sky made the cruise line’s maiden voyage into Havana.
