Toronto Hosts Tourism Fair

Travel junkies looking for a new destination to explore and people simply looking for an escape from hectic daily routines can discover hundreds of vacation possibilities at the 21st annual Toronto Star Travel and Leisure Show.

With more than 250 exhibitors specializing in everything from secluded mountain resorts to adventurous biking trips, visitors to this year´s Travel and Leisure Show, running until Sunday 24th at Mississauga´s International Centre, can find the perfect getaway trip at the perfect price.

The show is divided into themes and will feature exhibits on resorts, tourism agencies, hotels, tour companies and other travel-related vendors. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and offer additional information from Asia, Europe, Canada, the Caribbean and the United States, to name a few.

Show highlights include a lineup of 18 seminars, where people can pick up information on a number of destinations; A Taste Of Nova Scotia, which showcases live musical entertainment as well as demonstrations in boat building, sail making, and rope rigging; and the Sears Travel Pavilion will be providing show patrons with a chance to book their trip on-site.

Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative Deadline Approaches

The State Department is recommending that travelers apply now for travel documents that will be required at all land or sea border entry points as of June 1, 2009. On that date, under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), U.S. citizens will be required to present a government-approved document that denotes both citizenship and identity when entering the United States.
