Air Jamaica Offers Webfares through November

Throughout the month of November, passengers flying on Air Jamaica can take advantage of special web fares on select routes from the United States and Canada, valid for travel now through Nov. 30.

These special fares are available for a limited period so customers are encouraged to act quickly to enjoy these savings.

Virgin Atlantic Launches Codeshare Effort with Air Jamaica

Virgin Atlantic launched its codeshare with Air Jamaica from November 18. The codeshare follows the introduction of Virgin Atlantic flights between London Gatwick and the capital Kingston at the end of October, and the launch of services last year between Gatwick and Montego Bay.

 

Air Jamaica to Start One-Stop Miami-to-Grenada Service

Air Jamaica will launch service four days a week from Miami to Grenada via Montego Bay, Jamaica, effective November 4. The flights will operate on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, using Airbus A320 aircraft.

Jamaica is poised for a solid winter tourist season with travelers having their choice of both traditional and new air carriers to fly to the island from across the globe.

Spirit Airlines started service to Montego Bay and Kingston from its hub in Fort Lauderdale on November 10, and will also begin service from Orlando to Montego Bay this week.

The Latin American Air Transport Association (ALTA) announced it has confirmed twenty CEO speakers for the ALTA Latin American Airline Leaders Forum, which will be held from November 29 to December 1 in Cancun, Mexico, at the Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Resort & Spa.

Featured CEO speakers include the leaders of Aeromexico, Aeropostal, Air Jamaica, ASUR, Avianca, Caribbean Sun, Cayman Airways, Copa Airlines, GOL, Iberia, LAN, Mexicana, TACA, TAM and former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Norman Mineta. The directors of civil aviation of several Latin American countries will attend as well.

Air Jamaica Vacations (AJV) added eight Caribbean properties to its Top Class Escapes luxury product line. Launched last November with seven properties, Top Class Escapes features first-class air on Air Jamaica and concierge-level accommodations (where available).

The new resorts are Sandy Lane, the Fairmont Royal Pavilion, the Coral Reef Club and The Crane, all in Barbados; the Sandals Grande St. Lucian Spa & Beach Resort, and the Bluff Suites at Sandals Regency St. Lucia Golf Resort & Spa, both in St. Lucia; the Harbour Village Beach Club, Bonaire; and the Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island in the Bahamas.

Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative Deadline Approaches

The State Department is recommending that travelers apply now for travel documents that will be required at all land or sea border entry points as of June 1, 2009. On that date, under the Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI), U.S. citizens will be required to present a government-approved document that denotes both citizenship and identity when entering the United States.
