Caribbean Tourism Group Launches Blog

Monday, 14/07/2008
by Gay Nagle Myers

The Caribbean Tourism Development Co. (CTDC), the marketing and business-development unit owned by the Caribbean Hotel Association and the Caribbean Tourism Organization, launched its Caribbean Insider blog on CaribbeanTravel.com.

The blog offers insiders’ perspectives on the region and encourages dialogue among site visitors.

“We want to give visitors to the site an opportunity to engage in conversations and discussions about the Caribbean and also get their perspectives on life in the region,” said Alec Sanguinetti, C-CEO of the CTDC.

CaribbeanTravel.com launched in March and offers current destination information, including weather reports, festivals, events, news, travel deals and promotions. Travelers can use the site to book travel with Travelocity or be connected to a travel agent.

The blog will feature a roster of guests from the Caribbean tourism industry, offering views on topics such as sustainability, cuisine, current events and culture. Other site components include a deals section, maps of the region, hotel listings and suggested itineraries.
