Excelencias Group Wraps Up Tenth Anniversary Celebrations (1997-2007)

Tuesday, 17/06/2008

The Excelencias Group concluded its tenth anniversary jubilee on June 13 at Havana’s National Hotel with a long list of achievements in the fields of publishing and communications.

Right now, the company has over 350,000 readers around the world of its online newspaper Caribbean News Digital and more than 85 million readers of the Caribbean Tourist Excellences magazine, with 13 million copies of that particular magazine put out since 1997 to date.

During the closing ceremony, the Excelencias Group’s staff was accompanied by professionals and authorities from the travel sector in the region, plus nearly two dozen diplomats and UNESCO representatives, news media organizations and boldface names of the local fine arts.

Frederic Vacheron, UNESCO cultural coordinator in Havana, recognized the Excelencias Group for its outstanding collaboration with that United Nations organization in recent years and that has given birth to really attractive publishing materials on the culture, history and heritage of both the Caribbean and the Americas.

Thus, our group wraps up a commemoration that stretched out for a full year with a number of chats, expositions, concerts, press conferences, presentations of new publishing products and the Excelencias Awards to several institutions and organizations with outstanding results in the fields of travel and tourism worldwide.
