In an exclusive interview with Kevin Lewee, general manager of Hedonism II, he lays bare what Hedonism II is actually all about for both our readers and for those who haven’t made up their minds yet about this one-and-only experience. by Jose Carlos de Santiago How long have you been running this hotel and how long has the property been in operation?I’ve been in the hotel and tourism industry in Jamaica for 31 years. As to my background education and training in hotel management, I studied in England for a few years and came back here to work for SuperClubs quite a few years. Now I’ve been working in Hedonism III, which is located in Runaway Bay, and this is the younger of the two Hedonism properties. I happened to be at the Hedonism II when we opened it back in the early 1980s. With three well-located properties in Panama City –Riande Continental, Riande Granada and Riande Aeropuerto- the chain opened the Riande Beach Club in a partnership agreement with Hotel Golf Coronado. The front office stands up for the belief that a time of crises opens up a window of opportunities, so they’re sailing into the future with an upbeat attitude. On the management’s initiatives, the company’s vice president talked with Caribbean News Digital in an exclusive interview. Caribbean Week 2009 came back to New York City with flying colors, the colors of the Caribbean and its multitude of cultures and historic values. One of the island nations that basked in the Big Apple limelight was no doubt Anguilla and Caribbean News Digital’s Indiana Monteverde sat down with Victor Banks, the country’s minister of Finance, Economic Development, Investment and Tourism. In this exclusive interview, Mr. Banks broached a number of issues that certainly lay out the marketing strategies of today and tomorrow for that beautiful Caribbean destination.
