Celebrity Cruises introduced a new dining concept that it will offer exclusively on the Celebrity Eclipse. Qsine, part of the “Designed for You” program that the line launched last month, is a “modern, playful approach to familiar dishes from around the world,” along with “childhood favorites with elements of surprise,” said Jacques Van Staden, Celebrity’s vice president of culinary operations, during a teleconference this morning. Oceania Cruises celebrated the float-out of the 65,000-ton Marina on Feb. 26 by starting construction on its sister ship, named Riviera, the same day at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Genoa, Italy. Carnival Corp & Plc’s flagship unit Carnival Cruise Lines said it will increase its prices by up to 5 percent for all summer sailings, following strong wave-season bookings at the cruise operator. The wave season, traditionally the busiest booking period for the cruise industry, runs from about mid-January through early spring.
