Colombia Attended FitCar 2005 with huge Delegation of Businesspeople, Officials

Colombia´s Minister of Foreign Trade, Industry and Tourism, Jorge Humberto Botero, led his country´s delegation to the First International Tourism Fair in Caracas (FitCar 2005) that came to a close last weekend in Venezuela.

Mr. Botero was accompanied by Oscar Rueda, chairman of the National Tour Association of Operators, and by Patricia Acosta, head of the Colombian Tourism Promotion Trust.

Representatives from the private and public sectors in the Venezuelan state of Nueva Esparta attended the First International Tourism Fair that came to a close last week in Caracas. Their intention at their event was plain and simple: throw the limelight on Margarita Island as the South American country´s number-one travel destination.

The insular delegation was presided over by Nueva Esparta Governor Morel Rodriguez and Salvador Nuñez, president and CEO of the Nueva Esparta Tourism Corporation, who acted as top host at the island´s booth.

 
Venezuela, Curacao to Open Ferry Route

Venezuela and Curacao are working hand in hand to piece together a new ferry route between Coro Fal and the Dutch Commonwealth territory.

The official announcement was made by Hugo Clarinda, of the Curacao Commercial Office in Venezuela, within the framework of the First International Tourism Fair that came to a close last weekend in Caracas.

More Cruise Ships to Visit Panama

Since Panama signed an agreement with cruise ships companies, which are members of the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association in October 2000, the arrival of passengers to the Panamanian ports of Gatun, Colon 2000, Cristobal, Balboa, Fuerte Amador and Kuna Yala has increased, which confirm the status of the country as an established tourist destination.
